Like many people in the comments have already noted, the purpose of IF should not be weight loss. IF has helped me deal with my gut issues, focus better, and lower my sugar cravings.
Furthermore IF needs to be combined with a healthy low-carb, fat-rich diet to be truly effective. If I have a bowl of spaghetti at the end of a 18 hour fast, all I'm doing is delaying the next sugar spike
