My theory is if the top writers are complaining about their stats being down, someone else must be benefitting. Medium overall seems to be growing, so these changes probably mean more traffic is being distributed to smaller writers. I’ve noticed a lot of people (including myself) are mentioning how more stories are being picked up for further distribution. This inevitably means that with more stories distributed, the exposure of each story will be smaller and could explain why big writers are seeing drops in traffic
